Tuesday June 17,2025 say the Dallas Wings( 2-11) managed to break their losing streak in a matchup against the Golden State Valkyries. They managed to win over the Valkyries with a score of 80-71. The new expansion team(Valkyries) has given a great showing in their inaugural season. The Dallas Wings managed to out hustle the Valkyries in this exciting showing.
Top players from the game include number 1 draft pick , Paige Beuckers(No.5) led the Wings with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. We saw Arike Ogunbowale(No.24) with 19 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. New Wings’ player Kaila Charles(No.3) showed out with 10 points and 5 rebounds. The box score doesn’t show how well the team came together. It’s important to remember only 3 returning players came to the WIngs this season. The team also has a new GM with Curt Miller and an entirely new coaching staff.
Currently, Wings’ players Teaira McCowan(No.15) and Luisa Geiselsoderare(No.18) are away for the FIBA Eurobasket competition. Haley Jones has joined the team with a hardship contract. Former Seattle Storm player Li Yueru(No.21) has joined the Wings in a trade deal where Storm will recover the Wings' 2nd and 3rd round draft picks. Yueru will add more depth in the paint.
Tuesday was also Wings’ mascot , Lightning’s birthday. She brought all her mascot friends to the Park for a celebration.
